1.0

PART 1 – NAME

 

1.1

ARTICLE 1- NAME

The name of the organization is Mumias Constituency Youth Students Association.

2.0

PART II – OBJECTIVES

 

2.1

Organizational objectives

·        Empowerment of the youth economically and socially.

·        Access all financial sources in the government and the surrounding environment to develop education among members

·        Give advice on students in primary and secondary to develop them educationally

·        Develop the environment in political perspective and aspiration

3.0

PART III MEMBERSHIP & GOVERNANCE

3.1

Article 4 membership

No limit on number of member but all members must be students including those ones who have finished school but registered while students. All members should

  • Pay a non- refundable registration fee of ksh.100.
  • An adult over 18yrs
  • Able to attend meetings except with apologies
  • Be able to uphold group’s secretes
  • One can be a special member even if he is out of school and has shown remarkable contribution to the organization but the  membership  shall be subject  to the board's decision.

ONE SHOULD CEASE TO BE A MEMBER IF

·        He gives one month notice to the board about the resigning

·        If removed from membership by a vote of no confidence supported by 2/3 of the members

UPON TERMINATIOM

·        He clears with all members and receives his/her shares with 20% interest at the end of the year.

3.2

Article 5 – number of board members and management

·        The board shall consist of chairman, secretary, treasurer, organizing sec, project manager, and vice chairman. The board shall run the activities of the organization and shall consult members in policy making

Article 6- Appointments to the board

·        The board members shall be appointed through voting by members once per year

·        A board member is free to continually vie for post for maximum of two terms (2 years) if proved eligible.

·        Any other need be

Article 7- alternates

·        Any member of the board may appoint another member to be his alternate to act in his place at any meeting of the board in which he was unable to attend

·        If a person ceases to be a member the board should revoke the appointee

3.5

Article 8- office bearers

·        Upon election in an annual general meeting the office bearers will hold their respective posts until the next general annual meeting when new members shall be elected

·        They shall retire but be eligible for re-election 

3.6

Article 9- duties of the office bearer

Chairman

·        Chair all board and general meetings

·        Lead members in official functions

·        Should be a signatory to the accounts

·        Delegate duties to other members of the organization during functions

·        Over-rule the meeting when votes are tying

Vice-chairman

·        Eligible to perform the chairman’s duties in the absence of the chairman

·        General overseer of operations of all the organizations activities

Secretary

·        Write minutes during meetings

·        Keep records of organization documents

·        Spokes person to the organization

·        Signatory the accounts

Treasurer

·        Take and keep financial records

·        Sit in dully put committee

·        Signatory to Account

·        Provide money for the approved projects

Organizing secretary

·        Update all members with required information

·        Publicize all association goals and objectives

·        Organize and pre-plan meetings

      Project manager

·        Start and supervise projects

·        Set dully put committee

·        Report feasibility of several projects

3.7

Article 10- By-Law

One can terminate the membership upon

·        Missing three consecutive meetings

·        Whenever a member applies to withdraw or resign

·        Whenever a member is proved guilty by management

·        If he becomes unsound mind or deceased.

4.0

PART IV MEETINGS, QUARUMS & COMITEES

4.1

Article 11; Board proceedings

  • Questions arising from meetings shall be decided upon by majority votes
  • Incase of ties the chairman is eligible for a second vote.

4.2

Article 12:calling of meetings

  • All meetings shall be called for by giving at least 14days notice.
  • A fine of sh.20 shall be charged on anyone who comes late after an hour. After 2hours the fine is sh.40.This money will go to the organizations savings.

PART V:THE BOARD KIT AND WELFARE COMMITTEE

5.1

Article 13: management of the board kit and savings.

  • 25% of the money on organizations as accounts qualities to be used in the board kit.
  • The welfare committee will be made of 3 people to manage the board kit and all other cases of welfare
  • The board kit shall be responsible for :
    • Funerals
    • Accidents
    • Fee problems diseases (sickness).

·        Member’s contributions will again support the board kit at the point of need.

6.0

Article 14:Formation of Committees

Welfare committee.

·        To manage the board kit and welfare of all members of organizations.

 

Development Committee.

·        Be in charge of all development projects of the organizations.

·        Work in hand with the organizations project manager in operations.
